The day greeted me with a gorgeous sunrise, but I'm not looking forward to this evening because it involves two of my least favorite things. PAINTING & MOVING FURNITURE. My bud and I are moving out of our small shop space into a larger one (same store)We just have too much stuff! I'll be sure to take some before, during and after shots of the mess.
It's been a little over a week since he came into our lives, and it seems that he's made himself right at home. He's just the sweetest little ball of fluff and his name is Ivan. I think the bib just about sums it up for Sophie.
Treated myself to some new PINK BearPaws today...I know they aren't Uggs, but I'm on a budget and the price is right! On sale for $19.95. Can't beat that! Maybe I should go back and buy a second pair..what do you think, Sophie?
Jenna has always been a creative one, so it didn't surprise me when she took up sewing and reconstructing vintage clothing this past year. From School Girl... to Grown Up Girl
I love what she did to this wool plaid suit, although she's missing the brief case! She even made a cute plaid hat to match, which we forgot to photograph. :(
She's my thrift shop buddy, and always heads straight to the fabric bin. We picked up 4 yards of wool in her favorite turquoise for $5 ! She didn't even tell me what she was going to make, but a few hours later, she comes out of her room wearing this.
She has a passion for designing, but isn't really sure if she wants to make it her career. Of course, her number one choice would be Parsons in New York, but there are a couple of schools closer to home. Her main focus the last four years has been Art & Graphic Design while attending New Media Design within her High School. You would think she would help her poor Mamma's boring page...but she doesn't have the patience to teach me. She's a busy teen! Well...at least it keeps her away from the boys..heehee.
I've been on a roll with the vintage jeweled frames and just finished this one last night. It's now listed on eBay for a 5 day auction, although I'm secretly hoping it gets to stay with me. I love the pink birdie!
It was just like any other morning...at least that's what we thought. We headed down our little street on the way to school, when I looked to the right and saw this little trembling pooch on the corner, staring right at us. The next words out of Jenna's mouth are "Awww..Can we keep her?" Well, one look at this face, and you guess what happened next.
Her hair was matted, her legs covered with mud and it was 38 degrees out. Yes, even San Diego can be a bit chilly for at least one week out of the year. :) We went on to school as my husband came over and picked her up. She was very apprehensive, but it wasn't long before she was running around the yard, eating , drinking and looking for the nearest escape exit!
Our pug Sophie was inside, but knew something was up. She is usually very aggressive and territorial, but after letting them sniff between a partially open door, I decided it was time for them to meet. Sophie welcomed her and never once nipped or growled at her! I was so relieved when I saw that they were getting along so well. They ran and played for over an hour , and then they fell asleep on a garden benchwith a comfy pillow top.
I was falling hard for this little girl, but I knew what we had to do, and that was to contact the Humane Society to see if anyone reported her missing. But first, we had to get this little girl to the beauty shop!
