Spring Open House

Has it been a week already? I have been busy with the store..planning and preparing for our Spring Open House which takes place tomorrow! The store looks great and I will share photos with you on Sunday or Monday. We hung an old porch swing in the window, have a neat potting bench, and an amazing Tulip quilt on the back wall. The Attic Girls have put in lots of overtime this week and I hope to see some of you tomorrow if you can make it!

Spring Is In The Air

Just a quick post before I run out the door. It's gorgeous SPRING day today...just perfect weather here, and I'm enjoying the sights and sounds of spring. The birds are happy and have been my wake up call every morning. I hope everyone is enjoying the new season.

I just added a few items to the website, including these adorable little bunny egg cups. Aren't they the cutest!
(sorry, these are sold)

My Mom..Isn't She Cute?

Mom stopped by the store the other day. She was a good sport and let me take her picture with a hat and basket of Easter eggs. Doesn't she look cute?

She'll be turning the big Eight-OH! in June, but that doesn't stop her from being a kid at heart. Okay Mom...give me your best MySpace pose....look up...Perfect! :)

The eggs in the basket hold a special surprise for customers coming to our Spring Celebration on Saturday March 28th. Head on over to The Attic for details!

An Irish Treat

I hadn't planned on having anything Irish today, but when my daughter came home with some freshly baked Irish Soda Bread from the bakery, and a stick of Pure Irish Butter...well, how could I resist? This was a first for me, but definitely not my last. It was delicious.

I Did It !

Life has been hectic and I've put my web site on the back burner for sometime now. I decided to sit myself down this morning and just do it! I listed 7 new items which will be available for viewing at 5pm PST today.

I remember the days when I would add 15 or more to the site each week. What happened? Well, for starters, I have a store to fill and this web site thingy is time consuming as I'm sure many of you know. Taking pictures, writing descriptions, uploading pictures...it's about the same as listing on eBay. So for now, I will try to add at least five items a week, but no promises! :)

These bamboo Paris Hotel door mats are new to the store and are available in 2 styles! They roll up for easy shipping, and so cute that you might have to have both!

March 8 Update... The mats are selling quickly, but I have 1 more set on the website. Thanks to all who ordered! I will be posting photos of 3 more styles coming soon. You can check them out here.

This will be a little surprise for her! If you have a little one that needs a tutu, check out her Etsy site. She also accepts custom orders. and makes matching "Noggin Toppers"-Hair Clips and hand wands too!

The Meat Purse

Hmmm...That was my initial reaction to this. It looks like a big pink and red steak. Why would anyone want to carry around a purse that looked a steak? My silly girl has wanted this purse ever since it came out in 2003. The Meat Purse was a collaborative effort between Paul Frank & Mark Ryden, Jenna's favorite artist. Since there were only 500 made, people lined up around the block to stake steak their claim on one of these..heehee. I couldn't resist.

A few days ago, she found one on eBay and sent me the link with a note saying "IT'S ALL I WANT FOR MY BIRTHDAY!" Her birthday is not until April mind you, but these bags don't pop up very often so she put in an early request. These were selling on ebay last year for double what I paid, so I'm glad we waited. I decided to pick it up locally since the seller was located in San Diego, so we headed off to downtown Horton Plaza. Seeing the look on Jenn's face has she took it into her hands was priceless. Worth every penny. So if you are wondering what the meat purse looks like on the steak side...click here. No grill marks, just marbling..ewww! At first I was thinking...what did I just buy?...but the more I look at it, it's starting to rub off on me.

Here she is pictured with Ryden a few years ago, at the Museum of Contemporary Art in LA. She was on cloud nine...can you tell? She plans to take it to his next show to have it signed. It will then be complete.
