An Irish Treat

I hadn't planned on having anything Irish today, but when my daughter came home with some freshly baked Irish Soda Bread from the bakery, and a stick of Pure Irish Butter...well, how could I resist? This was a first for me, but definitely not my last. It was delicious.

I've seen that Irish butter in the
stores but didn't buy it because
it is kind of expensive. Is it
better than Land O'Lakes? If so,
I may have to break down and buy
some.

Hi Becky! Well, my daughter made the purchase and I didn't even ask how much, but it was probably expensive. It has 100 calories and 11 grams of fat in 1 TB. Is that the same as regular butter? Someone mentioned it was higher in fat than most butter. I would say Land of Lakes is just as good. The Irish one does have a richer flavor, but probably not worth the extra money, IMHO. :)

That is hands down hubby's fav butter! =) My Mom makes Irish soda bread each St. Patty's Day ~ she uses a recipe my baby brother got from his kindergarten teacher... Mom's made the bread every year since on St. Patty's Day. =)
