How Will You Be Celebrating?

My husband and I have never gone overboard for Valentine's Day. I've never received an expensive piece of jewelry, or had a Lexus parked in the driveway with a huge red bow, (oh wait, that's the Christmas commercial) When we were first married, we would always go out for dinner. Fast forward 25 years, and it's Chinese take out and a Netflix movie. He always brings a bouquet of flowers home for me and our daughter, which I've always found endearing. Today I will be visiting my favorite antique store, Vignettes. Lori is having a Valentine's Soiree, and I wouldn't miss it for the world! I'll take my camera along and hopefully get some good shots to share here in a few days. Tonight will be Chinese take out, which is just fine with me. :)
Hope everyone has a lovely Valentine's Day. How will you be celebrating?

Sounds JUST like Valentines Day at our house!:) I think today is just a big day of PRESSURE on men in general!;) The "3" of us actually went out for pizza last night after Jack's "Pee Wee Wrestling" practice - knowing tonight would be RIDICULOUS - even at pizza joints!:) I "was" woken up this morning by my son to anxiously show me a card he had made me this morning in his room for Valentine's Day. So sweet...:)

I worked all day at the daughter's store rearranging and now it's home with a cup of green tea and my lil' hairy friend (terrorist) at my side...don't get much better'n this!

Enjoy the Chinese, we had turkey slices with sundried tomatoes, a fresh whole-wheat baguette dipped in olive oil and green grapes...yummm...

Happy Belated Valentine's Day, Nancy! Your valentine's day sounds very familiar...but this year ours was a bit different. My son and his girlfriend came home for the wknd from the university....so we all went to the movies, then they went on to a romantic dinner alone and Dave, Lindsay (my youngest) her friend and I all went out to dinner. After we all came home and played games! It was so much fun...now that the kids are grown, we surely treasure those times we can all be together...the only sad part was my oldest daughter was missing from our day...she just moved to Austin, Texas and we sure do miss her...but she is loving it and plans to visit New Orleans at the end of the month...she is our little vagabond...having fun and enjoying seeing the country...ahh to be young :)!
