Lazy Sunday afternoon...

The plan was to make a trip to the Irvine Flea to sell today, but how can you get excited to go on a 2 hour road trip with the price of gas? It's depressing. Last year, we were able to rent a large truck for the flea market, split the gas and still came home with a wad in our pocket. This year it's different, and it's not just the gas. Buyers are spending less than last year. I was told about one seller who normally averages $5000 at the flea, is now averaging only $1500 a trip. We considered cramming as much as possible into one small truck. It just didn't seem worth it to me. We do have a local flea market just 10 miles from the house, but with only a few rows of the "old stuff" , you just don't get as many people looking for the "good stuff". We may give it a try though, and it will probably be the 2nd Sunday of each month.

I didn't get much done this weekend because somebody wouldn't stay off my lap, but that's ok..I loved the distraction. Sophie was her usual self. I swear..pugs must sleep 18 hours a day. Her snoring is the only snoring I can tolerate. I think it's just precious. :)
I did manage to get a few pictures taken, so new items will be in the shop by 6pm. A little bit of this and that...hope there is something for everyone!

The gas...groan, moan, cry and weep!!! So sad, I stay home a lot more then I used too, my hubby doesn't take his Dodge Ram out very often and now has a smaller commute car...sigh! will it ever end???

Hope you still were able to have a lovely weekend, looks like you are enjoying those great furbabies of yours, they help to make it all better huh???

XO,
DL

We're hoping the fleas get better too as the gas soars, staying closer to home and finally closing the doors of the shop...will concentrate more on those furry friends...enjoy those little lap angels...groomed 5 of them today.

I know. I commute across town, and have for the past three years. The price of gas is really crunching into our budget.

I've noticed a difference in the flea markets too. Not as many people buying.
